flying

I love flying alone. Is that weird? I like the freedom of walking into the airport by myself, checking in, and waiting at the gate curled in a chair with a book. I like the liberating anonymity of being surrounded by strangers. And I love plane rides. Floating miles above the ground, reading, writing, thinking, or just staring out the window for hours. Window seats are my favorite for sure.

My favorite part of a flight: the takeoff. One instant, you're listening to the wheels scrape across the ground, and the next instant, you're weightless.

My favorite kind of flight: flying from east to west, chasing the sun. Flying into the light and leaving the darkness behind.

Currently chilling at my friend's apartment in Irvine, California. My first meal after arriving in this state was In-n-Out. Perfect beginning to a week of delicious food!

Into marvelous light I'm running. Out of darkness out of shame...

I like flying alone, too. Window seats are awesome!! Except they have the least storage space under the seat in front of you :(

Yay for In-n-Out! Now you gotta hit up 21 Choices.

Heh, the anonymity is very comforting. I like flying alone because I'm usually in less of a rush then.

It's surprising what kind of amazing conversations you can have with people you've never met before. :)

What you really need to do, is to chase down a couple taco trucks, hehe.

It's those times by yourself that you can really just soak in the moment and see things unblemished. Glad you had a good flight!

You need to chronicle your food escapades for those of us who're stuck! :)
